cottages.

2 miles of safe sandy beaches and during the
summer months there are lifeguards on duty
in Rathmullan seaside village.
There is a large new leisure center opening
in Letterkenny in spring 2007, which will
have the latest fitness and leisure facilities
and will also include an Olympic size swimming
pool. There are a few surfing clubs in Donegal
also.

There are sea fishing charter boats available
in Rathmullan for deep sea angling, catching
many different types of fish e.g. trout and
mackeral. There are many fishing lakes in

Rathmullan has an important place in
the history of Ireland. It was the location
where the Flight of the Earls took place
in September 1607, when the earls O’Neill
and O’Donnell fled Ireland. The seaside
village of Rathmullan has a lovely 2km golden
sandy beach and spectacular sea views.
